WELCOME to the 201st Issue of EduHound Weekly!

EduHound Weekly Archives at: http://www.eduhound.com/eduhoundweeklyarchives.cfm

From the Desk of Judi!

This week's topic is:

BIOCHEMISTRY

Biochemistry is the chemistry of the living world. Plants, animals, single-celled organisms -- they all use the same basic chemical compounds to live their lives. Biochemistry is not about the cells or the organisms, it's about the smallest parts of those organisms, the molecules. It's also about the cycles that happen to make those compounds.

Some sites to help in this effort:

  • The Biology Project Home: Biochemistry
Features basic chemistry, metabolism, enzymes, energy, & catalysis, large molecules, photosynthesis, pH & pKa, clinical correlates of pH, vitamins B12 and Folate and regulation of carbohydrate metabolism.

  • Chem4Kids.com: BioChemistry
    B
iochemistry is one of the cross-over fields of chemistry. Biochemists have to understand both the living world and the chemical world to be the best at their jobs.

  • Biochemistry Resource Site
