Spotlight Classroom of the Week!

WELCOME to the 64th
Issue of EduHound Weekly!
From the Desk of Judi!In light of recent events, I would like to recognize two school websites that came to my attention this week. They are both showing their support and dealing with this tragedy in exemplary ways: Rocky Point Schools--Rocky Point, NY Forsyth County Schools--Cumming, GA
This week's topic is: STATE TESTING
Many of you have written asking where to find a comprehensive collection of related K12 state testing links.
We couldn't find one...so we created one!
Enjoy! Judi

Site of the Week! In honor of State Testing, this week's featured site is:
*National Assessment of Educational Progress
(NAEP) Report Card* The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as "the Nation's Report Card," is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. Since 1969, assessments have been conducted periodically in reading, mathematics, science, writing, U.S. history, civics, geography, and the arts. Under the current structure, the Commissioner of Education Statistics, who heads the National Center for Education Statistics in the U.S. Department of Education, is responsible by law for carrying out the NAEP project. The National Assessment Governing Board, appointed by the Secretary of Education but independent of the department, governs the program. Enjoy! **You can now see our past "Sites of the Week" live

Ask Judi! This week's question comes from Nancy: "I enjoy your letter, but when I try to go to your highlighted links I have a problem. I can open only the first link. After that, every link that I click on comes up a blank page, except with the message,'there was a problem opening this page.' Any suggestions?" Definitely, Nancy! I believe what may be happening is that the URL (link) of a particular website presented is too long for one line and is going into a second line. When this happens, the part of the URL that's on the second line often doesn't remain underlined (or active). The simple solution is to highlight then copy the entire URL then paste it directly into your browser. Good Luck! Each week, I'll use this area to answer questions that have been streaming in from YOU! As the saying goes, "If you have a question or comment, chances are that others have it too!" So please write us at EduHoundWeekly@eduhound.com and watch for your answer here!
