The measurement of time is an ancient science, though many of its discoveries are relatively recent. The Cro-Magnons recorded the phases of the Moon some 30,000 years ago--but the first minutes were counted accurately only 400 years ago, and the atomic clocks that allow us to track the approach of the millennium by the billionth of a second are less than 50 years old. Ask Judi! This week features an announcement from Suite 101.com Teacher Appreciation Event 2004 Is there a teacher you'd like to appreciate? Are you looking for some great ideas on how to acknowledge a special teacher, coach or mentor? Would you like to read stories about teachers and school and about teaching, or about being taught in all kinds of places, including home? If so, please enjoy the Suite 101 Teacher Appreciation Event. This event first ran in 2000, and I felt it was time to run it again! This year's "official" celebration is May 2 to 8, but you can plan your own celebration for any time that fits into your schedule. Here you'll find many great articles on the idea of appreciation - showing appreciation to all those who teach us, ways to say "thanks" to a special teacher, experiences our editors have had as teachers, inspirational words, useful links to web sites which honor teachers, and much more. Some of these great articles are from retired topics. If you see one you love, you might want to consider adopting that topic and giving it new life. If so - please email me at gitaylor@suite101.com and I'll point you to the contact person. There are also some great links to help you honor that special teacher. Enjoy our event, and don't forget to say "THANKS!!" to that special teacher in your life. Please visit this link for Event Submission Instructions: Good Luck! Each week, I'll use this area to answer your questions, post announcements, and provide interesting input! So please email me at EduHoundWeekly@eduhound.com and watch for your answer here!
