This week features a highlight of an upcoming conference:

CoSN 8th Annual K-12 School Networking Conference:
Achievement, Assessment & Accountability
February 26 & 27, 2003 - Arlington, Virginia

The K-12 School Networking Conference is the premier event for education leaders on learning through the Internet and technology! The conference attracts more than 500 district, state and national education technology leaders, all looking to enhance their careers and learn from other leaders in the industry to define the future of Internet and information technologies in our nation’s schools.

In the wake of No Child Left Behind, there is greater emphasis than ever on ensuring that classroom interventions impact achievement. This new level of accountability requires that educators leverage technology tools to access and analyze traditional and real-time assessment data so that they can modify instruction to meet the learning needs of individual students. At CoSN's 8th Annual K-12 School Networking Conference, school technology leaders will explore with national policy leaders, researchers and practitioners how technology can be leveraged to improve student achievement.

Breakout sessions on key topics will be:

  • Content & integration
  • Technology leadership & equity
  • Emerging learning tools
  • Professional development in a digital world

The conference program will focus on:

  • How can real-time assessment change instruction?
  • What is data driven decision making?
  • What does scientifically based research mean as required by No Child Left Behind?
  • What is technology leadership in the age of accountability?
  • Where have we been and where are we going with education technology?
  • How can e-Learning address equity?
  • What is the promise of broadband in schools?
  • How do we define literacy for the 21st century?
